We Welcome Winterland!

German melodic rockers WINTERLAND from Kaiserslautern have signed a deal with us for their upcoming album ‘Life’s What You Make It’, which is scheduled for release in late spring 2025.

Singer, composer and lyricist Stephan Hugo is known for WINTERLAND and as the head of the DAVID BOWIE tribute band ZIGGY’S STARDUST. As well as working on countless musical productions at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, he has lent his voice as a soloist and backing singer several times for CD productions, including VANDEN PLAS. Guitarist Markus Pfeffer is known as the songwriter and leader of the bands BARNABAS SKY, LAZARUS DREAM, MYSTERY MOON and ATLANTIS DRIVE, working with international rock greats such as Zak Stevens, Rob Rock, Tony Harnell, Danny Vaughn, Mark Boals, Doogie White, Dan Reed, Rob Lundgren and Carsten Lizard Schulz.

Hugo and Pfeffer have been close friends for more than three decades, which you can hear and feel directly in the songs of WINTERLAND. The close bond between the two musicians and friends is reflected in detailed instrumental arrangements, the combination of catchy chorusses, edgy guitar riffs and delicate solos in the best “eighties tradition” as well as meaningful, sophisticated lyrics all penned by Hugo.

Together with bassist Bernd Schreiber, on the 10 songs of ‘Life’s What You Make It’ Hugo and Pfeffer embark on a musical journey back to their beginnings in the 1980s, when melodic hard rock was still ‘mainstream’. They take great care to ensure that their roots are clearly recognisable, but also that the songs always sound fresh and contemporary.
